Prairie Farms Dairy – David Lattan

A number of major stores and chains use VersaCAD for the subject functions. The sample drawing shown is a layout of a very large department store using VersaCAD.

You will note that the departments are delineated by a sequence of lines. These lines are grouped when necessary and areas calculated by the Inquire function of VersaCAD.

Many store planners associate the symbols such as gondolas with attributes which describe the products contained on the shelves. Reports can be produced from this information. Others use the Bill of Material function of VersaCAD that provides for counting different symbols and then using the count against the built-in database to produce reports of costs, weights and other information.

Note the simplified sample report that shows the bill of material function.

Both Prairie Farms Dairy and Stater Brothers Markets subscribe to a VersaCAD Unlimited Corporate License that provides them with unlimited number of copies of VersaCAD, support and updates. The Unlimited Corporate License has removed the hassles of licensing and uncovered productive applications that were considered marginal before such as linking the Merchandising and Design departments. Prairie Farms Dairy operates over 30 milk processing plants and over 50 distributions centers, the planning for which is done using VersaCAD.
